A young Mapuche community leader, Camilo Catrillanca, was buried today (Saturday, Nov 17th, 2018) in what is today known as southern Chile--ancestral territory of my People, the Mapuche. Camilo Catrillanca, a 24-year old young Mapuche, was assassinated on the lands of the Temucuicui Community few days ago, on Nov. 14th, by a special police squad (Comando Jungla) created by the Chilean government. Camilo Catrillanca is the victim of the terrorizing deployment of colonial state violence in Chile against the Mapuche in resistance. Here I share a video of Camilo's funeral (eluwün) that it has been widely circulating which conveys a moment of pain yet strength for the Mapuche: the burial of Camilo Catrillanca as a "weichafe" (warrior) —L.E.
