Sobre la revista
Conversaciones is an online magazine devoted to fostering and increasing the circulation of topics and discussions pertaining to the Southern Cone region.
We publish two issues per year. Every issue consists of three sections: Debate, Book Reviews, and Announcements
Debate
The purpose of this section is to foster interdisciplinary critical debate on pressing, timely topics in the field of Latin American Studies focused on the Southern Cone region. Contributions are in the form of short essays that follow themes and debates that originated at our panels and workshops in preceding conferences. The main goal of this section is to give our in situ intellectual discussion larger distribution and outreach. In this way, we will generate a continuing dialogue on topics of fundamental interest to the Southern Cone community of intellectuals.
Reviews Section
This section will include the reviews of books on Southern Cone problems that are current. The goal of this section is to give more diffusion and circulation to meritorious books published in the Southern Cone that are internationally unknown due to the lack of circulation some small presses have. We emphasize the inclusion of books published at small, independent presses that sometimes go unnoticed and are not generally reviewed in major journals.
Announcements
This section includes important announcements to the life of the Southern Cone Section, such as information on our Book Award winners for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
